Terms & Conditions
Effective and last updated: 6 October 2026
These terms apply to the website and platform services of The Next PD, an Australian-based professional learning platform developed by Liam Bassett and Matthew Esterman through The Next Word. By using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you are using it for a school or organisation, you must have authority to do so. Read our Privacy Policy for information about personal data.
The service
The Next PD provides short videos, printable worksheets, facilitator plans, session-building and saving features, interactive tools, webinars and live presentation interactions. Access depends on your assigned role and any agreed plan. Parent activities are designed for adults to use with their children. Public demonstrations and guest access may have limited features. Content and tools may be added, revised or retired.
Accounts and access
Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. Do not share your account or access features you are not authorised to use. Administrators may provision accounts, assign roles, reset temporary passwords and access user views for support. You must change a temporary password when prompted. Tell us promptly about suspected misuse. Adults should supervise children using family activities or presentation features.
Using our resources
Unless a resource states otherwise, we grant authorised users a non-exclusive licence to watch videos and use, print or adapt supplied worksheets and facilitator plans for their own learning, family activities and authorised internal school or organisational professional development. You may share resources with participants in sessions you are authorised to run, while preserving attribution and respecting any stated restrictions.
The videos, branding, tools and original resources remain the intellectual property of their owners. Do not resell them, publish our library or videos publicly, remove attribution, redistribute platform access or use our content to create a competing commercial library without written permission. Third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ licences. Contact us if you need permission for broader use.
Your inputs, feedback and uploads
You retain rights in material you provide. You give us permission to store, process and display that material as needed to deliver the features you use, administer the service and improve it consistently with our Privacy Policy. This includes showing presentation responses and feedback to authorised administrators. This permission does not authorise us to sell your personal information or publish identifiable feedback for marketing without permission.
Only upload or submit material you have authority to use. Do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information, confidential student records, infringing content, harassment or unlawful material. We may remove material that breaches these terms or applicable law.
Presentations and shared resources
Presenters are responsible for their slides, the suitability of shared files, audience permissions and the way they display participant information. Treat room codes and join links as invitations: anyone with a valid code may be able to join. Do not share them beyond your intended audience.
Presenters can share and retract resource links. Retraction removes the link from the session interface; it cannot recover a file already downloaded or close an external document an attendee has opened. Screen or tab sharing requires browser permission. External presentation services may limit embedding or fullscreen behaviour, and availability depends on the browser and those services.
Responsible use and professional judgement
Do not attempt to bypass security or role restrictions, disrupt the service, impersonate another person without authority, scrape restricted content or use the platform for unlawful purposes. Platform materials and interactive tool outputs support reflection and planning. Check their suitability for your curriculum, assessment, students, local policies and context before acting. They do not replace professional judgement or specialist legal, medical or other advice, and we do not guarantee a particular educational outcome.
Plans, fees and cancellation
Any paid access, pilot, renewal, cancellation or refund arrangements will be set out in the offer or agreement you accept. These terms do not create a payment obligation merely because you submit an enquiry or use a public demonstration. Contact us about your access or billing arrangements. Nothing in an offer or these terms removes rights you have under applicable law.
External services
Videos, forms, document links and presentation services may be provided by third parties, including YouTube, Canva and Microsoft. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. We cannot guarantee their availability or control their account requirements, changes or content.
Availability and account restrictions
We aim to keep the platform available but maintenance, outages and third-party failures can interrupt access. Keep your own copies of important work. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address security risks, unlawful conduct or a material breach of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and give an opportunity to resolve it. Any action remains subject to applicable consumer rights and an agreed access contract.
Australian consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation. If a service fails to meet a guarantee, you may be entitled to remedies under that law. Responsibility for loss is determined under applicable law, taking account of the circumstances; these terms do not impose a blanket waiver of your rights.
Questions, disputes and changes
Contact us first if there is a problem so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator or exercising legal rights. These terms are governed by Australian law and the law of Victoria where applicable, without displacing mandatory rights in another jurisdiction.
We may update these terms for new features or changed arrangements. Material changes affecting existing access will be communicated with reasonable notice where practicable and will not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Any change to fees or a specific access agreement requires the process stated in that agreement.
